Maggie + Raquel’s Joy-Filled Scribner Bend Vineyard Wedding in Sacramento
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels peaceful, beautiful, and deeply connected to its surroundings, Scribner Bend Vineyard is one of those rare places that instantly makes you exhale when you arrive. Tucked along the Sacramento River, it offers a balance of natural beauty and thoughtful design that feels elevated without ever feeling stuffy. Maggie and Raquel’s wedding is a perfect example of just how special a Scribner Bend wedding in Sacramento, California can be.
A Couple Full of Joy and a Story Worth Waiting For
Maggie and Raquel have always brought a smile to my face. Their energy is infectious, their laughter is constant, and being around them feels like being wrapped up in joy. After navigating multiple COVID postponements, I had the gift of walking alongside them through not just one, but three meaningful chapters: two engagement sessions and finally, their long-awaited wedding day.
Our first session took place in Sacramento, the city they now call home. Our second brought us into Yosemite for a quieter, nature-filled experience. And then, beautifully full circle, we returned to Sacramento for their wedding at Scribner Bend Vineyard. It is a place that reflects so much of what they value, including beauty without pretension, a strong connection to nature, and space for community to gather and celebrate.
How Maggie and Raquel Designed a Day That Felt Like Them
From the beginning, Maggie and Raquel knew they wanted a day that felt like them. They were most excited about the parts that truly mattered. Standing together in front of their people, finally having their ceremony after such a long wait, sharing incredible food and local wine, and dancing the night away with friends and family they love deeply were their top priorities. Their wedding was not about creating a spectacle just for the sake of it. It was about intention, presence, and pure joy.
Tying a bow-tie for the first time can be a little stressful the day of your wedding. Highly recommend practicing ahead of time, but Raquel nailed it!
My favorite moments, the first look
As we were finishing their first look couples portraits, we noticed all these lady bugs on Raquel’s train. Remembering all the loved ones who passed before they were able to witness their commitment to one another.
Before the ceremony started, they began with a photo minute! Check out my blog post about the difference between this photo minute and an unplugged ceremony.
